Key Responsibilities
Internal Controls:
- Review organizational controls, operating procedures, and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Assess and report on accounting, operations, and financial controls.
- Recommend improvements and training for better compliance.
- Serve as liaison for external audits and regulatory agencies.
Internal Audit:
- Prepare and obtain approval for the annual audit plan.
- Facilitate internal audits and assess compliance with laws and policies.
- Verify asset existence and data integrity.
- Investigate fraud and provide management solutions.
- Participate in process and control improvements.
Enterprise Risk Management:
- Prepare and implement the annual risk management plan.
- Identify and mitigate existing and emerging risks.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain high professional standards and confidentiality.
- Develop and implement internal audit plans and controls.
- Examine financial transactions for compliance.
- Review operational processes for risk and efficiency.
- Prepare and present functional reports to the Board Audit Committee.
- Coordinate with external auditors and conduct staff training.
- Participate in projects and manage additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications / Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Preferred: CA, CIA, CPA, ACCA certification.
- Minimum 10 years of Banking/Insurance/Financial Institution experience within UAE.
Skills:
- Understanding of regulations and financial markets.
- Strong communication and report writing skills.
- Excellent analytical and data reporting abilities.
- Knowledge of insurance products/services.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with remote teams.
- Willingness to travel and manage multiple tasks.
