Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify and assess potential risks that could impact the organization’s operations, financial health, and strategic goals.
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies and policies to minimize adverse effects.
    • Continuously monitor risk exposure and effectiveness of risk management strategies, making adjustments as needed.

    Actuarial Functions:

    • Calculate actuarial reserves for various insurance products, ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Develop pricing models for insurance products, conduct profit testing, and refine pricing strategies.
    • Assess reinsurance needs, develop reinsurance structures, and lead reinsurance negotiations.

    Financial Analysis and Reporting:

    • Provide actuarial projections and financial analysis to support budgeting, financial planning, and strategic decision-making.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
    • Produce accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory requirements.

    Business Planning and Strategy:

    • Contribute to strategic planning sessions in product development, underwriting, and claims management.
    • Collaborate in formulating business plans and forecasts to support sustainable growth and profitability.

    Risk Management Implementation:

    • Lead the implementation of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks.
    • Conduct ongoing risk assessments and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.

    Team Leadership and Development:

    • Support and guide junior team members, encouraging their professional growth.
    • Lead project teams, ensuring high-quality work products and fostering a collaborative team culture.
Requirements
  • Experience & Skills:

    • At least 8 years of experience in the insurance industry with extensive experience in actuarial functions.
    • Expertise in actuarial valuation, pricing, reinsurance management, financial reporting, and risk management.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in statistical modeling and data analysis tools.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Leadership experience, including team management, project oversight, and client liaison.
    • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
  • Educational Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Economics, Finance, or related field.
